Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies the response under its own systems. We do not retain or record those search terms on our servers.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to answer it. We keep correspondence within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive limited technical information whenever a page loads, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's assigned IP address
- The referring website, when one is reported
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved to a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points, in an aggregated form. You can block cookies through browser controls, although doing so may change how some features work.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not host, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Ogemaw County record guidance identifies official custodians such as the Sheriff's records unit, the local courts, the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Michigan State Police collects and disseminates criminal-history information as authorized by MCL 28.242; that government function is separate from this private site. We do not turn visitor information into third-party dossiers or consumer reports, and we are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before sending a query because we do not direct the provider's data handling.

Links may lead to the Ogemaw County Sheriff, Michigan courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Once you follow an external link, the destination's policy controls. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to observe activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.

Ogemaw County Criminal History is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor submitted such information, we will remove it promptly.

- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
